
Monday Night Goalie Academy
The Monday Night Goalie Academy is a high-intensity, skill-focused 60-minute training workshop designed to elevate goaltenders of all ages and skill levels. Held weekly, the academy provides structured, professional coaching in a competitive and supportive environment.
What to Expect
- Elite-Level Coaching – Stations led by experienced coaches, including former collegiate and professional players, our academy delivers the best on-ice training tailored to each goalie's needs.
- Fundamental & Advanced Techniques – Improve core goaltending skills while also building upon advanced concepts that will help goaltenders develop to elite levels.
- Game-Specific Drills – Develop quick decision-making, read plays effectively, and react with precision.
- Small-Group & Individual Instruction – Get personalized feedback to maximize development.
- Fun – Develop as a goaltender in a fun, collaborative, and encouraging atmosphere.

Bob Zalabak
GOALIE LIAISON
Bob brings a wealth of passion for goaltending to the Hawks. With a deep understanding of the position and a dedication to helping goalies reach their full potential, Zalabak is committed to fostering an environment where goalies can grow, compete and thrive.
With over 3 decades of playing and coaching experience at the goaltending position Bob Zalabak will work to enhance all aspects of our goalie program and ensure that each goalie receives the tools necessary for success.

Corey Crawford
ADVISOR OF GOALTENDER STRATEGY & DEVELOPMENT
A two-time Stanley Cup Champion and one of the best goaltenders of his era, Corey Crawford brings professional experience, knowledge, and a winning mindset to his role as Goaltender Performance and Development Coach.
Crawford enjoyed an illustrious 13-year NHL career, all with the Chicago Blackhawks, where he backstopped the team to Stanley Cup victories in 2013 and 2015. Known for his calm demeanor, elite positioning, and ability to rise to the occasion in pressure-filled moments, Crawford finished his career with 260 NHL wins, a .918 save percentage, and a reputation as one of the league's premier goaltenders.
He also earned the William M. Jennings Trophy twice (2013, 2015), awarded to the goaltender on the team that allows the fewest goals during the regular season. Now transitioning into coaching, Crawford is dedicated to developing the next generation of our goaltenders, sharing his firsthand experience from the highest levels of the game. Having faced and conquered the challenges of pro hockey, Crawford offers invaluable mentorship on game preparation, positioning, and the mental approach needed to excel between the pipes.
In his role, Crawford will work closely with young and aspiring goalies, helping them sharpen their skills, build confidence, and develop the habits necessary for long-term success. His presence is not only a game-changer for goaltenders within our program but also a testament to the organization's commitment to elite-level training and development.

Garret Sparks
GOALTENDER PERFORMANCE & DEVELOPMENT COACH
A native of Elmhurst, IL, Garret Sparks was born to be a goalie. From age 7, when he first volunteered to be a goalie at the outdoor YMCA Rink to now, his heart has always been in the net.
Garret was selected by the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 7th round of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. But before he turned pro, he won a gold medal playing for the US in the 2013 U20 World Junior Championships.
His playing career includes over a decade of professional hockey, highlighted by his time with the Toronto Maple Leafs, where he became the first goaltender in franchise history to record a shutout in his NHL debut. He also spent time with the Vegas Golden Knights, Calgary Flames and LA Kings organizations and was able to play in his hometown for the Chicago Wolves in 2019.
As a Goaltender Performance and Development Coach for the Chicago Hawks, Sparks will bring an unmatched insight on the game which will make him an invaluable resource for our goalies. Whether working with young goalies developing their fundamentals or with our advanced netminders fine-tuning their game, he is dedicated to helping each Hawk/Phantom reach their highest potential. He will use his firsthand NHL and AHL experience to help goalies refine their skills, improve their consistency and develop the mindset necessary to thrive in high-pressure situations. Sparks will collaborate closely with goalies at all levels, focusing on technical precision, puck tracking and situational reads. His hands-on coaching style, combined with his unmatched love of the position, will help our goaltenders develop the skills and confidence needed to excel.

Brooke Meyer
GOALTENDER PERFORMANCE & DEVELOPMENT COACH
A dedicated coach with a strong background in player development, Brooke Meyer brings a unique blend of goaltending expertise, coaching experience and sports performance knowledge to her role as Goaltender Performance and Development Coach for the Hawks and Phantoms.
Born in Downers Grove, IL, Meyer displayed her athletic talents across multiple sports from a young age. But goaltending was her true love.
Brooke was one of the best goaltenders in the CSDHL during her 6-year tenure, and was instrumental in leading her team to the 2012 Central States League title, a 2nd-place finish in IL, and a quarterfinal appearance at the National Championships. The team also secured a 2nd-place finish in IL in both 2009 and 2010, and captured the 2008 Silver Sticks Championship. She also earned two varsity letters from Neuqua Valley High School as a Junior and Senior.

ANTHONY PETRAK
GOALTENDER PERFORMANCE & DEVELOPMENT COACH
Anthony Petrak is a seasoned coach with a background in both playing and coaching across various levels of hockey. A native of Joliet, IL, Petrak has dedicated his career to the advancement of goaltenders.
Petrak's journey between the pipes began in his youth, culminating in a standout tenure at Robert Morris University. As a pivotal member of the team, he backstopped the squad to a Central States Collegiate Hockey League regular season championship, a playoff championship, and an appearance in the ACHA National Championship Game.
His exceptional performance earned him spots on the Central States All-Star Team and recognition as the First Team All-Tournament goalie at the National Championships. Petrak has amassed over a decade of coaching experience and has been instrumental in developing goaltenders through esteemed programs such as the Mitch Korn Goalie School, and Bandits Goalie School.
Petrak's dedication to the sport extends to his role for USA Hockey, where he aids in nurturing a passion for goaltending and identifying talent poised for higher levels of play. His holistic approach to development creates an environment where goaltenders not only enhance their technical skills but also cultivate the confidence and mental fortitude essential for success. Through his unwavering commitment and comprehensive coaching philosophy, Anthony Petrak will shape the next generation of Hawks goaltenders, instilling in them the values of hard work, resilience, and a deep love for the game.

Michael Levine
GOALTENDER PERFORMANCE & DEVELOPMENT COACH
A former standout goaltender with the Chicago Hawks, Michael Levine returns home in his new role as Goaltender Performance and Development Coach. Known for his technical proficiency and leadership on the ice, Levine is excited to mentor the next generation of elite goaltenders.
Hailing from Clarendon Hills, IL, Levine began his hockey journey right here with the Chicago Hawks, then moving on to the Syracuse Stars in the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) before committing to Suffolk University.
During his collegiate career from 2015 to 2019, he consistently demonstrated exceptional skill and resilience between the pipes. Levine's performance peaked in his junior year when he was honored with the Jeff Rose Award, recognizing him as the team's best defensive player.
Levine's dedication to excellence and familiarity in playing for the Hawks makes him an incredible asset to us in his coaching role. His firsthand experience at the collegiate level equips him with the insights necessary to guide aspiring goaltenders toward achieving their goaltending goals.
